The "Koukaku Kidoutai SAC meets Nissan" event begins today at the Nissan Ginza Gallery in Tokyo. (If the name is unfamiliar to you, just read it as "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex meets Nissan".)

The design collaboration event is in anticipation of Solid State Society airing on SKY PerfecTV! on September first. You can see Nissan's concept car that's featured in the anime, and if you're lucky, you might get to see their little R/C fully interactive Tachikoma (that won't be coming to market).

Enjoy coverage here and here. See the official page here. Or just watch the cute little Tachikoma.

The event runs through the 14th.

On the subject of Tachikomas, if you don't want to wait for Good Smile Company's eternally slow diecast Tachikoma, look for Megahouse's "Perfect Piece" Tachikoma action figure. The six inch figure represents the 1st Tachikoma (with the full-time wheeled feet) and is ABS, fully poseable, and features a scale Kusanagi figure and an opening pod hatch. The design is a "toy-ized" version of the 1:24 Wave kit. It's ¥10,300 and coming in spring of 2007.
