Kiranger

Kiranger is the strongest of the Gorangers with an insatiable appetite for curry rice. Simply put, he is the archetypical "affable big-boned" member of the team. Originally armed with the YTC radio, he acquires the Keysticker pole in the show's second year. Oddly enough, little controversy surrounds the suggestive Keysticker-- a golden fist mounted on a stick.

The original Kiranger, Ooiwa Daita, becomes commander of the Kyushu branch for a short stint and is replaced by a new Kiranger, heavy-weight Kumano Daigorou. Unfortunately Daigorou comes to an untimely end when he is struck in the stomach by Can Opener Mask's Can Opener Cutter; this remains one of the most ironic deaths in sentai narrative, as well as a lingering warning against childhood obesity. Daita ultimately returns as the strong arm of the group.
