Despite weak sales at home, Bandai remained overall profitable during the first half of 2005. Domestic sales of its core properties (including Gundam, Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, and Tamagotchi) were firm, guiding the giant into a "play it safe" strategy for the rest of year, while it explores new character franchises such as Eureka Seven.

The big success story for Bandai was in Europe, where the numbers were all about Power Rangers. In the US, Power Ranger sales were also brisk, but overall picture wasn't inspiring. Bandai intends to focus American character sales on its most successful lines, and muster its resources for the end of year Christmas war.

Noticeably lacking from the mid year report was Teen Titans, which had been played heavily in previous marketing plans.
